Milling Technician - FurstStaffing

Position Overview:            Set-up and operate CNC mills. Essential Job Functions:

1. Ability to assemble parts as needed
2. Verify part quantity with the job traveler 
3. Make machine adjustments as required to maintain print specifications
4. Study and determine the part tolerances and methods of measurement for each job 
5. Deburr parts when necessary 
6. Ability to run more than one machine while maintaining run times and quality as required
7. Use micrometers, height gages, optical comparators and visual checks for part inspection
8. Maintain a clean and organized department and work area
9. Communicate with coworkers and supervisor as needed
10. Determine when cutters needs replacement or resharpening
11. Assist in determining tooling & fixturing needs
12. Interpret blue prints 
13. Complete all necessary paperwork as required in a timely & accurate manner
14. Continually analyze and improve machining process to improve efficiency and quality 
15. Machine programming
16. Inspection sheet creation
17. Fixture design and machining
18. Prep for future jobs
19. Update process prints
20. Update inventory for tools and fixturing 

 Non-Essential Job Functions:

1. Train others as needed
2. Work on miscellaneous projects as needed

 Skills/Requirements:

1. Minimum of five years on CNC machines at least two years on mills
2. Ability to think critically and ask questions of others in order to foster continuous learning efforts
3. Ability to use micrometers, indicators, and precision gages
4. Attention to detail
5. Sense of urgency
6. Ability to maintain confidentiality 
7. Ability to develop alternative solutions when needed
8. Ability to multi-task
9. Ability to adhere to 6S and lean standards
10. Ability to stand and walk for up to 5 hours at a time
11. Ability to occasionally lift boxes up to 40lbs and regularly lift boxes up to 20lbs
12. Knowledge of all departmental machine capabilities
13. Basic general inspection equipment knowledge and skills
14. Basic materials knowledge
15. Communication skills to train others as needed
16. Basic math & geometry skills (Math skills including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry) 
17. Work in a safe manner in execution of all duties
