Job Summary:
The Lead General Foreman is responsible for monitoring quality, and safety, and providing planning and direction directly to the assigned General Foremen and their crews of foremen and craftsmen, for construction activities on construction projects.
Overview of Primary Duties:
- Coordinates, oversees and briefs General Foreman on daily and weekly work to be done.
- Plans and prioritizes job tasks, and trains, directs, organizes, and supervises the General Foreman and crew on the job site for quality work and efficient production.
- Is familiar with the job site safety plan.
- Enforces safe practices.
- Conducts training in safety.
- Completes safety reports.
- Ensure that all work meets or exceeds the standards.
- Assists General Foreman on their crew timesheets.
- Prepares quality and quantity reports, and other required reports.
- The role of the Lead General Foreman is to provide leadership, direction, and supervision of employees; and to provide coordination so that craft work is performed safely and productively.
- Evaluate, monitor, and report on work progression, while ensuring that all work is conducted in compliance and line with the man-hour budget.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret instructions and documentation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in the field of work being completed to step in if needed or conduct training.
- Together with the superintendent, look ahead, organize, and coordinate the work schedules of all specialty contractors on the project.
- Know what to do if an OSHA inspector comes onsite.
- Together with the superintendent, recognize and correct any unsafe conditions that may exist or occur on the job site.
- Assist with job site inspections.
- Follow through with any directions for abatement of any noted unsafe condition or hazard; report any unabated unsafe condition to management.
- In the absence of a superintendent, plan for job equipment, material, and personnel requirements as far in advance as possible
- Attend any required meetings, including scheduled supervisory meetings.

- Report all incidents, near hits, and hazards to management.

- Participate in workplace inspections.
- Comply with statutory requirements, including duty of care.
- Participate in required and assigned training.
- Provide suggestions to improve Safety.
- Present a mature approach to working safely.
- Attend prestart and Safety meetings and contribute.
- Other related duties as needed and assigned by Field Supervision.

Qualifications:
Level I:
- Minimum of ten (10) years of construction experience
- Minimum of eight (8) years of craft-classified experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervision experience
- Experience managing five to fifteen (5 to 15) team members
- Formal education/degree/certificate in construction, technical, or trade school such as NCCER Certification Plus.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in the English language
Level II:
- Same as Level I
- Successful completion of Yates Supervisor training
Requirements:
- Supervise installation per work packs and report quantities
- Complete time sheets for their direct reports to track progress and verify time
- Responsible for the quality of the finished product, completing quality documentation including check sheets and final documentation
- Read ISO's, Blueprints, P&IDs
- Successful completion of required Safety training to include, but not limited to, Confined Space, LOTO, and Working at Heights
- Experience in maintaining short-range look-ahead plans.

- All weather conditions at varying temperatures
- Work at varying elevations
- Will work in windy and dusty environments
- Moderate to high noise levels
- The project site will contain light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment, and tools
- Ability to hear bells, whistles, and alarms
- Required to wear safety-approved body harnesses when working at 4’ or above
- Required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting
- Ability to talk and hear to communicate
- Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls, and tools
- Must be able to lift, carry, and move heavy objects up to 25 lbs.
- Will use vision abilities to focus, see short and long distances, colors, depth perception, and peripheral vision
