Are you a skilled and motivated maintenance technician looking to make a real impact?
Highland Pellets is searching for top-notch technicians to join our team and play a vital role in keeping our production lines running efficiently and safely.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Taking ownership of our preventative maintenance program, ensuring equipment is serviced and inspected on schedule.
- Troubleshooting equipment issues: you'll use your critical thinking skills to diagnose problems, develop solutions, and get things back up and running quickly.
- Becoming a master of understanding equipment through blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Putting your knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and lubrication to work to keep our equipment in top condition.
- Working safely and efficiently, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Continuously improving by identifying ways to optimize equipment performance and reliability. You will participate in breakdown analysis, root cause analysis, focused improvement, and 5s projects.
- Keeping clear and concise records of your work, logging labor, materials, and equipment used.
- Communicating effectively with your team and management to ensure everyone is aware of equipment status and potential issues.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a high school diploma or equivalent, with trade school or college experience a plus.
- Brings at least 7 years of experience as an Industrial Mechanic or Millwright.
- Has at least 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing plant environment.
- Thrives in a challenging environment and can solve problems independently.
- Understands and follows all safety protocols (LOTO, Confined Space, Hot Work, Working at Heights).
- Has OSHA 10 Training and Experience.
- Has welding experience (MiG and stick preferred).
- Possesses a strong mechanical aptitude and enjoys working on a variety of tasks.
- Is flexible and willing to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays (when needed).
- Isn't afraid of heights (work up to 80 ft.), can operate man lifts, and can work in confined spaces.
- Can handle working outdoors, on rotating shifts, and lift up to 50 lbs.
