Mining Coordinator (Soda Springs, Idaho)
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Mining Coordinator provides oversight and direction for the safe, efficient and effective recovery of ore from the pit to the stockpile. This position controls the quality of ore that is fed through our system, maximizes ore recovery, and manages the day-to-day mining operations.
The primary responsibilities of this role, Mining Coordinator, are:
- Oversee all operations in the active areas of the mine;
- Work with equipment operators to identify and clean ore, collection and transport of trench samples to plant lab;
- Provide oversight and direction to mining contractor to ensure adherence to daily, weekly, monthly and annual mining plan;
- Tasked with identifying all ore and overburden zones within the active mining operational areas;
- Using traditional ore identification & sampling procedures the coordinator develops detailed weekly and daily mine plans and directs all facets of mining ore and overburden within the pit;
- Determines the most efficient way the ore and overburden are to be extracted and where it is to be placed;
- Maintain safe operations. This includes identification and mitigation of any safety issues quickly to ensure all personnel safety;
- Responsible for all updates of the pit map with current pit surveys in order track all operational progress;
- Has ultimate start and stop work authority within active mining areas.
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Must have valid driver’s license (To be eligible to drive a company car, your driving record must meet guidelines based on the company’s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers – MVR will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screening;)
- Ability to work during days, nights, and rotating shifts as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least five years of professional experience in mining industry.
