Summary You will serve as a MISSION SUPPORT SPECIALIST in the Administrative Department of NAVAL JUSTICE SCHOOL. Responsibilities You will assist students and staff members and the day-to-day management of all administrative matters within the schoolhouse. You will perform other various duties related to support and routine administrative support throughout the schoolhouse. You will serve as the primary liaison for all incoming contacts to the command. You will receive all personal contact information of personnel contacting the command. You will greet visitors, process requests for appointments, receive and relay messages, and maintain professional decorum, neatness and cleanliness of all common areas in administrative department. You will answer incoming phone calls and inquiries from visitors, using utmost discretion in screening and referring calls/visitors to the appropriate staff member. You will handle outgoing mail; prepare outgoing mail and shipments and maintain proper logs. You will be responsible for the maintenance of records and files and properly maintain and destroy files in accordance with the DON’s Records Management Policies. You will be responsible for submitting various weekly, monthly, and annual reports to supervisor as required. You will ensure office equipment is operating efficiently and effectively to carry out the mission of the Administrative Department. You will be responsible for general office duties, including preparing correspondence, drafting documents, scanning, photocopying, filing, etc., as directed by supervisor, senior staff, or other members of the Administrative Department. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing in-person customer service duties to include: answering phones, picking up and delivering mail, directing walk-in traffic, etc. I am also computer literate, organized, and can communicate well via written communication. Examples of related experience include: 1) Utilizing database systems to process and manage administrative files in an office; 2) Applying a knowledge of an office's file storage, retention and destruction systems; 3) Using a knowledge of correspondence formats, citations, grammar, spelling, and punctuation; 4) Completing various administrative office practices and procedures such as staffing, coordinating, filing, photocopying, faxing and assembling correspondence.
