| A System Administrator is needed in the Communication Systems and Cyber Security Division to support the development of new technologies that enable worldwide networked operations for the military and other government agencies. The division addresses the needs of next-generation satellite, airborne, and terrestrial networks using its core expertise in radio frequency (RF), fiber and free-space optics, cyber security, network protocols and services, information operations, communications processing, and speech and language technologies. The division is extensively involved in field experimentation and measurement campaigns to verify algorithms and architectural concepts in operational environments. | ||

| • Domains: IT Infrastructure, Networking, Cloud, system architecture design, system configuration management, system troubleshooting and database management. • Responsible for management, administration, and support of MIT/LL IT systems' infrastructure. • Responsible for configuring and maintaining (physical and virtual) servers and user workstations along with software and hardware deployments. • Responsible for Data Center/Server Room operations. • Evaluation, Design and Support additional technologies as they are adopted by the Laboratory. • Ensure system availability (powered on); OS builds/upgrades; system patching; apply OS configuration to new systems; troubleshoot host/server failures and related issues (i.e. domain controller problems); perform routine data backups; documenting maintenance actions taken; component diagrams; trusted downloading; seal maintenance (whenever security seals are broken/replaced); transportation plans (information gathering); electronic audit trail backups; document and prepare Memorandums of Understanding / Interconnection Service Agreements. • Responsible for vulnerability remediation on classified and unclassified Laboratory systems. • Maintain equipment in secure Laboratory environments. • Management of users and program data through AFS infrastructure. • Lifecycle management of all IT infrastructure • Subject matter expert on Risk Management Framework, advise RMF deployment teams • Support for standing up of new lab programs by planning and implementation of systems through the development of network plans and procurement of equipment. • Responsible for scoping and executing field tests of program systems, and onsite field test support • 3rd level support for recognizing and troubleshooting issues with user's machines as they occur across a verity of Operating Systems. • Web development for multiple web applications critical to the operation of MIT/LL • Design, implement and support complex networking, including experimental networks, with a solid understanding the full-stack of MAC/PHY, VLAN and routing, firewalling and associated protocols and technologies • Design and maintain best in class storage system for data warehousing, and data lifecycle management • Build and maintain automation using ansible for universal zero touch deployment of operating systems • Solid understanding of MFA. Requires deep knowledge of Linux MFA including sssd, OpenSSL, pam and associated services. Applicable Education and Professional Accreditation: • Degree in one of the following disciplines: Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or a related technical experience. • Certification(s) in one or more: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP); CompTIA Security+ |
