Overview of Position:

A part of the UCF Academic Health Sciences Center (AHSC), the UCF Mobile Health Clinic is a new program that seeks to serve vulnerable and medically underserved communities in Central Florida and provide clinical education for students in the health professions.
The UCF Mobile Health Clinic operates from a 38 ft. commercial-grade vehicle with two exam rooms, one intake and lab space, and additional tents or tables for patient registration and educational activities. Services provided include primary care, prevention screening, and chronic disease management. The primary target service area is the greater Orlando area. We will partner with community organizations to promote programs to meet community needs. Event sites include schools, community centers, shopping centers, and places of worship

Reports To

The Mobile Clinic Manager position will report directly to the Medical Director of the Mobile Clinic.

Position Summary

The Mobile Clinic Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the mobile unit, staff management, and regulatory compliance. This position involves managing the day-to-day activities of the mobile clinic and mobile vehicle, coordinating with other stakeholders, and overseeing the delivery of services. The Mobile Clinic Manager is also responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, developing policies, and maintaining accurate records.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

• Manage day-to-day clinic operations, including scheduling, staffing, inventory management, and quality assurance.

• Leading program integration - integrating the activities and outputs of multiple projects within the mobile health program. Ensuring projects are aligned with the program's objectives, scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risks.

• Collaborating closely with other managers/stakeholders and clinical staff to ensure high-quality care for patients and clinical efficiency.?

• Manage the mobile clinic team, ensuring seamless integration with other health teams and community partners.?

• Work with student learners, who are Allied Health Professionals and medical student mobile bus volunteers.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.?

• Work with community partners to design and implement educational programs.

• Monitor clinic performance metrics (patient satisfaction, wait times, etc.) and implement necessary improvements.

• Gather and report data for fiscal, statistical, and analysis purposes.

• Keeps work area clean, organized, and stocked with supplies needed.

• Maintains equipment in good condition.

Administrative Duties

• Evaluate staff performance, address disciplinary matters, and respond to grievances.
• Develop and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Compile a variety of recurrent and non-recurrent statistical data required by funding agencies and organizations.
• Optimize resource allocation to maximize impact while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
• Build strong relationships with community organizations, local leaders, and stakeholders.
• Represent the clinic at community events, health fairs, and outreach programs.
• Resolve administrative and operational problems.
• Build strong partnerships with external agencies and strategic alliances.
• Identify, plan, and develop new programs and initiatives.
• Coordinate and schedule staff, service professionals and student volunteers.
• Responsible for maintaining customer friendly atmosphere
• Manage inventory of medical supplies.
• Handle patient complaints.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

• Attends meetings as required.
• Adheres to HIPAA guidelines/regulations/annual HIPAA training and other required training.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field required (Master’s preferred)

Graduate of a school of nursing or equivalent clinical programs

Current valid State of Florida license as Registered Nurse

Work Experience

Three years of experience in healthcare management, preferably in mobile clinics. Experience in establishing community engagement initiatives and programs for medically vulnerable communities.

Knowledge

Knowledge of evidence-based practices and culturally appropriate approaches. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

License/Certification

Current licensure as a health professional (e.g., RN, NP) preferred primary care experience. Additional certifications in healthcare management a plus.

• Proven experience in clinic management or healthcare administration, preferably in a mobile clinic setting.

• Experience in community engagement/outreach and partnership development.

• Strong leadership and critical thinking.

• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.

• Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills.

• Ability to adapt to changing environments and work independently.

• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to healthcare.

• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.

• Comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations and standards, including HIPAA, OSHA, and CLIA.

• Attention to detail and well organized.

Physical Requirements

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients (up to 20 lbs.), manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

Work Environment

Environmentally controlled medical office environment; Work hours subject to office needs to ensure coverage during all hours of operation; Frequent exposure to bodily fluids; Possible exposure to infectious specimens, communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a laboratory and medical office environment; May wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves or a mask; Frequent interaction with a diverse population including team members, providers, patients, insurance companies and other members of the public.
