Mobilization and Faith Relations Intern - Global Refuge

Reporting to the Congregational Engagement Specialist, the Mobilization and Faith Relations Intern will support the faith community engagement and congregational fundraising goals of Global Refuge by ensuring all faith relations data is up to date and that we are reaching new partners by researching faith community endowments and foundations. The role is focused on data management and research, but it will also provide opportunities to represent Global Refuge publicly and learn about writing funding proposals. This is a paid internship.

DUTIES

• Ensure Mobilization and Faith Relations' data is up to date in Salesforce, the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system Global Refuge uses.
  • Update clergy and faith community records.
  • Affiliate faith leaders with the faith communities where they serve.
  • Merge duplicate church and clergy records.
  • Record recent visits and call notes and flag any follow-up tasks.
• Work with the Congregational Engagement Specialist in researching faith community foundations and endowments providing recommendations for opportunities to pursue.
• Support proposal development for funding opportunities in partnership with Congregational Engagement Specialist.
• Assist with Faith Relations public events such as conferences, synod assemblies, webinars, and church visits.
• Provide administrative support for digital and printed communications.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree or combination of relevant education and experience preferred.
• Advanced experience working in Microsoft Word is required.
• Experience in data management, prospect research, and community engagement, ideally in a mission-driven, philanthropically supported non-profit is preferred.
• Ability to communicate in a professional manner orally and through written communications.
• Demonstrated experience and proficiency using specialized data sources such as Salesforce is preferred.
• Excellent organization and analytical skills, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
• Professional and friendly demeanor.
• Ability to use good judgment, take initiative, anticipate and respond to needs, prioritize and solve problems.
• Understanding of industry best practices and demonstrated ethical compliance as defined by the Association for Fundraising Professionals
• Ability to function effectively as a member of a team, ensuring close coordination and integration with other staff members.
