Job Description:
The Modelling/Forecasting Analyst creates and/or builds moderately complex data models. This position supports a broad range of data analysis functions, including data modeling, visualization, data profiling, report design and other specialized data management functions.
Depth & Scope:
+ Experienced professional role providing specialized guidance/assistance to function supported
+ Provides specialized analysis, non-standard reporting, and operational support
+ Provides guidance/assistance to other team members and internal partners on a broad range of processes
+ Carries out work with some complexity, generally requiring short to medium-term focus (weekly-monthly)
+ Independently delivers assigned initiatives with direction from management
Education & Experience:
+ Undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree preferred (e.g., math, physics, engineering, finance or computer science) Graduate's degree preferred with either progressive project work experience, or
+ Past relevant work experience is a plus
Customer Accountabilities:
+ Works with data specialist to assess current capabilities and identify high-level business data requirements
+ Identifies and proposes data management solutions to meet client needs
+ Understands the banks source systems, data and metadata
+ Analyzes identified data quality issues against source system and existing data quality capabilities to confirm the source of the data quality
+ Works under general guidance of Data Specialists or Managers to design, develop and support data management solutions for the bank
Shareholder Accountabilities:
+ Contributes to various operational activities and processes as assigned
+ Is knowledgeable of practices and procedures within own area of responsibility and keeps abreast of emerging trends for own functional area
+ Protects the interests of the organization – identifies and manages risks, and escalates non-standard, high-risk activities as necessary
+ Conducts internal and external research projects; supports the development/delivery of presentations/communications to management or broader audience
+ Conducts reporting and/or meaningful analysis at the functional or enterprise level using results to draw conclusions, make recommendations, assess the effectiveness of programs/policies/practices
+ Monitors service, productivity and assesses efficiency levels within own function and implements continuous process/performance improvements where opportunities exist
+ Acquires and applies expertise in the discipline, provides guidance, assistance and direction to others
