About the Job
The Mold Designer provides engineering support to the tool room, production, and quality teams. This role involves designing tools and equipment necessary for manufacturing plastic injection molded components and subassemblies. The ideal candidate will be proficient in CAD software and capable of collaborating with customers and internal teams to ensure successful mold designs.

- Produce data and designs for tool room personnel to create plastic injection molds, auxiliary equipment, and assembly tools.
- Communicate with customers regarding product design and functionality to assist in mold design.
- Lead design review meetings with technical teams.
- Verify customer models against drawings to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Contact vendors to request quotes and order custom parts for mold builds as needed.
- Collaborate with various teams on production improvement projects.
Qualifications:
- Two years of post-high school education or equivalent related experience.
- Minimum three years of electronic drafting and modeling experience preferred.
- Knowledge of toolmaking preferred.
- Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and I-Mold.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present to groups.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, business periodicals, and organizational policies.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in various formats.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal staff and customer organizations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Occasional lifting/moving of up to 25 pounds.
- Required to stand, walk, sit for extended periods, and perform computer-related tasks.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision.
Work Environment:
- Moderate noise level.
- Normal office conditions.
- No supervisory responsibilities.
