Hoffer Plastics is hiring for "Set Up/Mold Technicians", "2nd shift".
Play a key role in producing plastic components that make everyday life possible, from transportation to food packaging to healthcare.
The Mold Setup Technician is responsible for molding parts in accordance with internal and external customer requirements. This includes machine set up, auxiliary equipment set up and process parameter input. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a neat and orderly work area in accordance with 5S standards and adhering to safety policies. The Mold Setup Technician position is divided into four (4) classifications based on skill set and responsibility and pay rate will be determined accordingly.
Starting Pay $17.25 + 4% Shift Premium

Responsibilities:
The following responsibilities will vary based on skill level and experience.
- Perform mold set up, and color changes to meet production demands.
- Monitor production for accuracy and efficiency and work with quality inspectors to identify defects.
- Set molding process parameters to ensure part quality.
- Troubleshoot process, machine, and auxiliary equipment problems and make necessary changes to ensure quality and reduce downtime.
- Progress through leveled training to gain skill and knowledge and learn new technology as it is brought to manufacturing.
- Work with Supervisor and/or Lead Molding Technician to identify ways to improve productivity and reduce scrap, defects, etc.
- Work with Quality Inspectors to identify defects and make good decisions relative to process changes.
- Ability to sample new and existing molds.
- Keeps current with new technology in molding, auxiliary equipment, robots, etc.
- Perform Material Handler duties as assigned.
- Promote safety by abiding by all related policies and procedures and set a good example for others.
- Helps maintain 5S and cleanliness in the Plant by doing assigned cleaning tasks and set a good example for others.
- Potential to assume responsibilities of Supervisor or Foremen in their absence.
Qualifications:
- Minimum education of High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate
- Must be able and interested in successfully progressing through leveled Molding Technician training curriculum.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and math proficiency
- Proficient in reading / writing English
- Computer proficient
