Manages Mobile Cardiac Telemetry service. Analyzes Holter Monitor data and writes preliminary reports.
Job Description
1. Analyzes raw data from Holter
a. As needed, performs good quality Holter monitor placements, with thorough patient instruction.
b. Utilizes knowledge of normal and abnormal cardiac function and subsequent rhythms to interpret data and select appropriate examples to include in report.
c. Analyzes patient diary to identify incidents that corresponds to detected abnormalities in Holter tracing.
d. Writes report and sends to MD in-basket for official read.
e. Notifies physician immediately of critical value findings and follows up with physician instructions.
2. Manages Mobile Cardiac Telemetry and Cardiac Event Monitor service
a. Effectively navigates multiple MCT/CEM platforms including, but not limited to, Info bionic MoMe and Artella, to locate and review data for abnormalities. Utilizes on-line tools, archives final data, and locates previously archived reports for comparison purposes.
b. Utilizes knowledge of normal and abnormal cardiac function and subsequent rhythms to interpret data and select appropriate examples to put into report.
c. Analyzes patient diary to identify incidents that corresponds to detected abnormalities in MCT/CEM/HM tracings.
d. Writes preliminary reports and sends to cardiologist’s in-basket in patient’s on-line medical record (Epic).
e. Notifies physician immediately of critical values and follows up with physician instructions.
3. Provides in-services for peers and new employee training, as requested by the physicians
a. Provides in-services for staff, as requested to insure ambulatory medical assistants can do proper skin prep and lead placements for obtaining quality waveform tracings.
b. Can provide EKG interpretation training to new staff, as requested
c. Is competent with monitor operation and troubleshooting.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education - Preferred
High school education, competency in EKG interpretation by schooling or prior work experience, intermediate computer skills, medical terminology
Minimum Work Experience
Prefer 2-3 years minimum Holter reading experience or equivalent.
Required Classes/Skills -
Competency in Epic, preferred Epic Cupid
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
Required additional Knowledge and Abilities
Advanced EKG interpretation skills.
Certification as required for IDTF status (CCT or CRAT)
