We are seeking a qualified Mortgage Operations and Compliance Risk Analyst to join our HomeAmerican Mortgage Corporation team in Denver, CO.
Core Responsibilities
The Mortgage Operations and Compliance Risk Analyst will create, update, and maintain policies and procedures pertaining to mortgage operations, production, and compliance functions, partner with various stakeholders in the organization to implement policies, procedures and best practices, and monitor, test, and evaluate policies, procedures, controls, and other standards to identify gaps and recommend opportunities for process improvement and control enhancement.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct risk and control effectiveness assessments and periodically monitor departmental processes to provide risk level.
- Collaborate with Mortgage Trainer to ensure understanding, check for effectiveness, and measure results.
- Participate in new business initiatives, ensuring understanding of controls and adequacy of documentation.
- Manage, test, and evaluate policies, procedures, controls, and standards to identify gaps with an emphasis on automated controls.
- Establish monitoring reports and develop analysis and reporting to identify and communicate risk insights.
- Communicate effectively, accurately, and concisely with all levels of management regarding control effectiveness or recommendations for control enhancements; ensure any risks or control gaps are appropriately mitigated.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information and insights for documentation.
- Conduct thorough research to stay abreast of changes in applicable laws, regulations, industry trends, and best practices and ensure appropriate and timely change management.
Requirements
- BA or BS degree or equivalent work experience required.
- At least 5 years’ prior experience working in the mortgage industry required.
- Experience working with internal audit and external regulatory bodies a plus.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mortgage production, operations and compliance practices, along with demonstrated expertise in formulating policies, procedures, risk assessments and other related documentation within the mortgage industry.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- Must be able to analyze and advise management of operational and/or compliance issues as they arise.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality.
- Must be detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality in documentation.
- Must be a team player.

Compensation
- Base Salary: $80,000-$100,000
- FLSA Status: Exempt
- Bonus Type: Year-end Discretionary
