CTG is seeking to fill a Mortgage Processor opening for our client in Cheektowaga, NY.

Duration: 6 months
Overview:
The Mortgage Processor will be responsible for processing conventional and government loan requests in accordance with product, underwriting, and state-specific guidelines. This role requires effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure a seamless loan application experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain effective communication with customers, brokers, loan officers, and co-workers throughout the loan application process.
- Work with internal departments and external organizations to gather necessary documentation for loan processing, such as Verification of Employment, IRS Transcripts, and appraisals.
- Notify all parties immediately of any irregularities concerning mortgage guidelines.
- Monitor and update credit reports, appraisals, and income documentation to ensure compliance with underwriting conditions.
- Perform administrative duties, including preparing commitment letters and updating loan conditions.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and guidelines.
- Identify and escalate risk-related issues to management as needed.
- Promote an environment that supports diversity and aligns with the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain internal control standards and implement audit points in a timely manner.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
Scope of Responsibilities:
This role involves close collaboration with internal and external customers, including co-workers, borrowers, and loan officers.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience Required:
- Associate's degree with a minimum of one year of mortgage industry experience, or two years of equivalent work experience. In lieu of a degree, three years of equivalent work experience with at least one year in the mortgage industry.
- Six months of specific M&T Bank mortgage processing experience plus an additional 6-12 months in customer service or financial services is also acceptable.
- Proficiency in PC skills, including spreadsheet, word processing, email, and PDF software.
Education and Experience Preferred:
- Strong decision-making skills based on provided information.
- Knowledge of product, investor, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing mortgage environment.
- Strong organizational skills with multitasking capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and prioritization abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable work ethic and dependability.
