CTG is seeking to fill a Mortgage Processor opening for our client in Cheektowaga, NY.

Duration: 6 months
Overview:
The Mortgage Processor is responsible for managing conventional and government loan requests while adhering to product, underwriting, state-specific, and investor guidelines. This role is vital in ensuring a smooth and efficient loan application process for customers and internal teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain effective communication with all parties involved in the loan application process, including customers, brokers, loan officers, and co-workers, to ensure a seamless experience.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external organizations to gather necessary processing documentation (e.g., Verification of Employment, IRS Transcripts, title searches, appraisals, bank statements).
- Notify relevant parties immediately of any irregularities concerning standard mortgage guidelines.
- Monitor and update credit reports, appraisals, income documentation, and verifications to meet all underwriting conditions, working closely with underwriting to resolve issues.
- Perform administrative duties to support the origination department, including preparing commitment letters, reviewing title and homeowners insurance, and updating loan conditions.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and guidelines.
- Identify and escalate risk-related issues to management as necessary.
- Promote a diverse work environment that reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Uphold internal control standards and implement audit points as required.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with internal and external customers, including co-workers, borrowers, and Loan Officers.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
- This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience Required:
- Associate's degree with a minimum of one year of mortgage industry experience or two years of equivalent work experience, OR in lieu of a degree, three years of equivalent work experience including at least one year in the mortgage industry.
- Six months of specific M&T Bank mortgage processing experience plus an additional 6-12 months in customer service, operations, or the financial services industry is also acceptable.
- Proficient PC skills, with strong knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, email, and PDF software.
Education and Experience Preferred:
- Strong decision-making skills based on provided information.
- Knowledge of product, investor, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing mortgage environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize daily workloads.
- Reliable team player with a strong work ethic.
