What it's like to be a Mortgage Team Leader
As the Mortgage Team Leader at Peoples State Bank, you will be the direct sales manager of a vibrant Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) team, spearheading superior growth and profitability! You'll roll up your sleeves to execute our innovative mortgage strategic plans and initiatives, diving into collaboration with our mortgage department, retail branches, and other business lines to supercharge efficiency and sales. Your day-to-day will include producing through origination, underwriting, and closing of secured real estate loans, ensuring we maintain a safe and profitable mortgage loan portfolio. With a focus on promoting stellar customer service, you'll lead your team to deliver top-notch experiences that make our customers feel valued and supported every step of the way! To thrive as a Mortgage Team Leader at Peoples State Bank, you'll need a robust toolbox of skills and experience. A Bachelor's Degree is essential, along with at least 5 years of mortgage banking experience. If you have 2+ years of management experience in the banking industry, that'll give you a leg up! Your exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills will be key in fostering strong customer relationships. Outstanding organizational and time management skills will help you juggle multiple tasks effectively.
You'll also demonstrate leadership that drives results through planning, execution, and collaboration. A solid understanding of government regulations and secondary market rules is crucial, as well as results-oriented sales abilities. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Requires National Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) registration.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of mortgage banking experience.
- 2+ years management experience in the banking industry preferred.
- Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrate leadership skills that produce results through planning, execution, collaboration and accountability.
- Understanding of government regulations, legal requirements and secondary market rules involving lending and related functions.
- Results orientated sales ability with success in establishing and building customer relationships.
- Strong computer skills.
