What you will be doing:The Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking a motivated, organized, innovative individual to join our team as a Motor Vehicle Customer Service Representative (MVCSR) 1. We are looking for an applicant who thrives in a fast-paced environment to be a part of the DMV public service team, examining documentation presented for required information and validity to ensure they are being issued the proper credential or vehicle information. As an MVCSR 1, you will interact directly with the public oftentimes explaining policies, statutes and regulations.

The working environment you can expect:
This position is located at the Fairbanks DMV, 414 3rd Street. The MVCSR 1 will be assigned to a work station in the public service lobby and will typically rotate weekly between processing customers in the lobby and working the information station. The hours are 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a one hour lunch and overtime opportunities.

To be successful in the position, the ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, abilities and experience:
- Excellent Customer Service – Demonstrates professional and friendly customer service while handling a wide range of situations and demographics.
- Cash Handling and Keyboarding Skills – Ability to accurately and efficiently enter information into multiple databases and correspond clearly through email both internally and with the public. Accept correct payment in the form of cash, check, credit card and return change when needed accurately.
- Multi-Tasking – Ability to multi-task by reviewing documents, data entering information while communicating verbally with customers in a loud open concept office setting.
- Work Independently – Demonstrate independence by finding efficiencies, making decisions and minor problem solving.
