## Overview
This MV Direct Client Service Specialist I position is located within
the VT CDL Unit at the Vermont DMV, Montpelier location. The job duties
are those of a CDL Specialist, including the processing of DOT Medical
Examiner Certificates, CDL licensing applications, and the maintenance
commercial driving records. Work is completed in an in-person office
setting with a small team environment. This full-time limited-service
position is for a term of 18 months.
## Environmental Factors
Incumbents must be able to work quickly and accurately under pressure
before the public eye and from telephone inquiries. Due to significant
public contact exposure to contagious illnesses is a daily risk.
Incumbents must be able to multi-task and prioritize unpredictable
workloads. Employees must be able to deal with confused, frustrated, and
highly upset customers and handle large sums of money. Within the office
setting, normal workplace conditions prevail. Occasional trips outdoors
when verifying vehicle identification numbers. Incumbents must be able
to perform several job duties within several different units possibly in
the same day. The incumbent must be able to travel to other offices with
minimal notice to assist when staffing shortages occur and various
scheduled hours. Private means of transportation may be required.
Overtime work may be required.
