Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Movement Clerk to be based out of Jersey City, NJ . This challenging position will provide an excellent growth opportunity while improving the infrastructure of the city.

Shimmick is a national Contractor that has an excellent reputation within the industry and is seeking a qualified individual to join our Southwest Division. Shimmick takes on challenging projects and performs high-quality work ranging from expanding/constructing water and wastewater treatment plants to construction of the new Gerald Desmond Bridge.
Shimmick has a long history of completing complex water projects, ranging from the world’s largest wastewater recycling and purification system in California to the record-setting Hoover Dam. Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
+ Input information into databases for Transportation and Maintenance-of-Way personnel.
+ Completes various forms and documents relating to injuries, accidents and investigations.
+ Makes notifications via pager and phone to the client and applicable personnel during adverse conditions and times of emergency.
+ Notify emergency personnel in the event their response is necessary.
+ Makes daily station and platform announcements regarding service.
+ Makes station and platform announcements to inform passengers during outages and service alteration.
+ Provides documentation to operator personnel relating to job assignments.
+ Posts notices, general orders and bulletins at designated locations for Hudson Bergen Light Rail Train personnel.
+ Assist with passenger information and customer service via call-for-aid.
+ Responsible for all lost and found items to include logging and release.
+ Establish and maintain files, including reports and correspondence.
+ Answers and places telephone calls in a pleasant, polite manner, involving internal and external contacts.
+ Maintain good housekeeping practices in OCC (20 Office).
+ Performs miscellaneous clerical and light typing duties as assigned by Lead Controller.
+ Adjust Nice Vision cameras when required to improve image and notifies repair service or equipment malfunctions.
+ Accept complaints concerning service, receiving complaints or secure failures to designated departments for investigation.
+ Printing and laminating of operational advisories for any scheduled service adjustments.
+ Must be willing to work variety of rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
+ Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ A minimum of one year work experience required.
+ Excellent customer services skills required.
+ Candidate must have good oral and written communication skills.
+ Experience with Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, and Excel).
Additional Information:
+ Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
+ This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
The salary range for this position is $16.00 per hour depending on experience and/or education.
