About the Job
The MRI Coil Repair Technician provides repair and testing of MRI coils. As an MRI Coil Technician, you are required to maintain a knowledge base of MRI coil repairs and accurately complete repairs and documentation timely in the ERP system.
Main Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain repair processes for MRI coils following QMS Requirements
- Ensure repairs are completed following these procedures
- Maintain and update the repair knowledge database
- Troubleshoot and resolve RF circuitry issues to the component level in a timely manner
- Assist in conducting MRI repair studies and make analyses of the cost effectiveness of potential improvements
- Train staff in repair methods and procedures, as directed or necessary
- Conduct reverse engineering OEM cables and reproduction - using to repair or complete coil (MRI)
- Understand and draw schematics of cables, documenting appropriately
- Have knowledge of various connectors and contacts and their applications
- Proficient with soldering iron and de-soldering process
- Dexterity and sufficient mechanical ability to assemble and reproduce small parts
- Ability to reverse engineer OEM cables and reproduce them
- Identify cable types and apply knowledge of in-house cable materials to closely match OEM
- Excellent communication skills with persons of all levels of the organization
- Knowledge of FDA 21CFR820 and ISO 13485, as well as other applicable requirements, including company procedures and how they relate to job duties and responsibilities
- Operate, interpret, and document QA Scans on MRI QA Bay to functional test MRI coils
Job Requirements:
- Education and Experience
- Experience in medical electronics is helpful, but not required
- Minimally a GED, highschool diploma preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Auto CAD, Solid Works, and circuit layout tools preferred, as well as other software programs as needed
- Solder certified or on-the-job training equivalent, preferred

- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic circuits at the component level (not at circuit board level).
- Thorough understanding of electronic circuits, with the ability to read and interpret schematics.
- Experience with electronic test equipment such as multimeters and network analyzers.
- Electronic circuity at the component level.

- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
