Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and certified MRI Technologist to join our radiology team. The ideal candidate will hold ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification and have experience in performing high-quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans. The MRI Technologist will be responsible for operating MRI equipment, preparing patients for procedures, and ensuring patient safety during imaging. You will work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to produce accurate diagnostic images that support optimal patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI scans according to physician orders, ensuring high-quality imaging results.
- Prepare patients for MRI procedures, explaining the process and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Position patients and adjust MRI equipment to capture the necessary images, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Operate MRI machines and associated imaging equipment, monitoring patient conditions during scans.
- Follow safety protocols, including screening patients for contraindications (e.g., metal implants or pacemakers) to MRI procedures.
- Assist with administration of contrast agents when necessary, following established guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of imaging procedures and ensure proper documentation in the patient's medical records.
- Collaborate with radiologists to review and analyze images for diagnostic accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with ARRT standards, facility policies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ACR, HIPAA).
- Perform regular equipment maintenance checks and notify the appropriate personnel of any technical issues.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior technologists or students when necessary.
