Summary
The Machine Operator role is responsible for the set-up and operation of the workstation and the equipment. The employee must also monitor the product's process and quality and make necessary corrections to it to maintain a steady flow of quality products to the customer.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the operating of all types of machines and work to ensure that they are well maintained.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, tape measures, schedules, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating.
- Sets up and operates fabricating machines according to the specifications.
- Work to adjust and operate speed and control the load of the machines.
- Monitor the finished products obtained to ensure the quality conforms to the specifications.
- Monitor the working of the machine and report the need for improvement, defects or malfunctions, etc.
- Operation of lifting devices as needed.
- Looks for opportunity to get involved in safety, environmental, process changes and overall improvement efforts.
- Follows all EHS guidelines and applicable procedures.
- Read, understand, and follow the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and EHS Work Instructions.
- Report any unsafe conditions or incidents in a timely manner to their supervisor or any member of management.
- Shut down process if unsafe.
- Follow proper machine shutdown procedures.
- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality

Education and/or Experience
- Must attend, complete, and implement required in-house training.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, tape measures, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situation
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
