Position Summary:
A Multi-Modal Technologist will perform imaging procedures while adhering to established guidelines and assisting in the training of new technologists; will work under the supervision of the modality supervisory technologist and modality medical director. Technologist will: - Perform all technical procedures within the respective modality sections as described in the Radiology Policy Manual. - Meet the technical competency requirements for the position. - Maintain an effective working relationship with all staff. - Participate in professional education programs, patient/staff safety initiatives, and quality assurance/ improvement activities. Contributes to the efficient operation of the department, ensuring quality and continuity of patient care including variation of modality assignment to meet the needs of the patient volume.
Required Qualifications:
- Current American Heart Association or Red Cross BLS certification
- Qualifications as described by modality below. Note: a Multi-Modality Technologist must work as needed in two (2) or more of the modalities below:
- Angiography (Interventional) Technologist
- Current Massachusetts DPH Radiologic Technologist Radiography (Full/General) license; and Current ARRT registered certification in Radiography with RT(R) designation; and Preferred additional current ARRT registered certification in Vascular-Interventional radiography with RT(VI) designation and/or preferred additional current Cardiac-Interventional radiography with RT(CI) designation and/or preferred additional current Cardio-Vascular interventional radiography with RT(CV) designation; and Current ACLS certification with American Heart Association obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Cardiac Catheterization Lab Technologist
- Current Massachusetts DPH Radiologic Technologist Radiography (Full/General) license; and Current ARRT registered certification in Radiography with RT(R) designation; and Current ACLS certification with American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Computed Tomography Technologist
- Current Massachusetts DPH Radiologic Technologist Radiography (Full/General) license, and/or Nuclear Medicine license, and/or Radiation Therapy license; and Current Massachusetts DPH Radiologic Technologist Radiography Computed Tomography license; and Current ARRT registered certification in Radiography with RT(R) designation and Computed Tomography with RT(CT) designation; and/or Current NMTCB registered certification in Nuclear Medicine with CNMT designation.
- Mammography Technologist
- Current Massachusetts DPH Radiologic Technologist Radiography (Full/General) license and Mammography license; and Current ARRT registered certification in Radiography with RT(R) designation and Mammography with RT(M) designation.
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist
- Current ARRT registered certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging with RT(MR) designation; and Preferred additional registered current ARRT registered certification in Radiography with RT(R) designation; and Preferred additional current Massachusetts DPH Radiologist Technologist Radiography (Full/General) license.
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- Current Massachusetts DPH Radiologic Technologist Nuclear Medicine license; and Current ARRT registered certification in Nuclear Medicine with RT(N) designation; and/or Current NMTCB registered certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology with CNMT designation. For technologists performing SPECT-CT Current Massachusetts DPH Radiologic Technologist Nuclear Medicine license SPECT-CT endorsement and/or current Massachusetts DPH Radiologic Technologist Nuclear Medicine license CT endorsement and/or current Massachusetts DPH Radiologic Technologist Radiography (Full/General) license.
- Radiography Technologist
- Current Massachusetts DPH Radiologic Technologist Radiography (Full/General) license; and Current ARRT registered certification in Radiography with RT(R) designation. For recent radiologic technology graduate only: ARRT registered certification eligibility in Radiography with RT(R); must obtain registered certification within 12 months of hire and prior to the expiration of a temporary Massachusetts DPH Radiologic Technologist Radiography (Full/General) license.
- Cardiac Catheterization Lab Technologist
- Current Massachusetts DPH Radiologic Technologist Radiography (Full/General) license; and Current ARRT registered certification in Radiography with RT(R) designation; and Current ACLS certification with American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Ultrasound Technologist
- Current ARDMS registered certification in Abdomen with RDMS(AB) designation and/or current ARDMS registered certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology with RDMS(OB/GYN) designation and/or current ARRT registered certification in Sonography with RT(S) designation.
- For technologists performing nuchal translucency sonography: Current NTQR or equivalent Nuchal Translucency registered certification within 18 months of hire*
- For technologists performing vascular sonography: Current ARDMS registered certification in Vascular Technology with RVT designation and/or additional current CCI registered certification as a Registered Vascular Specialist with RVS designation and/or additional current ARRT registered certification in Vascular Sonography with RT(VS) designation*
- For technologists performing breast sonography: Current ARRT registered certification in Breast Sonography with RT(BS) designation and/or additional current ARDMS registered certification in Breast with RDMS(BR) designation*
- Preferred additional current ARDMS registered certification in Musculoskeletal with RMSKS designation*
- Preferred additional current ARDMS registered certification in Pediatric Sonography with RDMS(PS) designation*
- Preferred additional current ARDMS registered certification in Fetal Echocardiography with RDMS(FE) designation*
- Preferred additional current ARDMS registered certification in Neurosonology with RDMS(NE) designation*
*Registered certification is only required if needed to satisfy site modality accreditation requirements
