About the Job
Responsible for the effective delivery of care to patients in a multi-modality setting by operating CT, MR and X-Ray equipment to capture appropriate images.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Demonstrates operating knowledge performing imaging exams in CT, MR and X-Ray and positioning of patients.
- Starts IV lines and prepares and administers contrast material using the power injector.
- Evaluates CT scans for technical quality.
- Ability to follow procedure protocols and guidelines.
- Operates CT scanner equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation standards (ALARA).
- Ensures timely schedule is maintained. Assembles and reviews patient data, history, proper two patient identifiers. Verifies physician orders and pertinent lab work when required.
- Utilizes EPIC, Radiant, and PACS to schedule and transmit images to the Radiologist for interpretation. And ensures information for radiologists' interpretation is available (outside images, reports etc.).
- Contributes to the team and works cooperatively with peers and treats fellow employees in a respectful professional manner.
- Displays the ability to work under stressful and difficult situations.
- Maintains communication between departments as well as physicians to ensure patient safety.
- Ability to complete and maintain proper daily QA records.
- Adheres to standards of care per policy and procedure manual to maintain a safe environment.
- Able to access, interpret, communicate, and deliver age and culturally appropriate care.
- And other duties as assigned by site leadership.
