Job Description: | The Opportunity Reporting to the Associate director, the multimedia specialist I assists in planning, recording, and editing of educational videos for the Center for Online Innovation and Production in the support of online courses as well as any multimedia requests that come from the provost’s office; coordinates with instructional designers and other multimedia specialists to ensure video work is completed on time and according to specifications. The position also assists other multimedia staff in the pre-production and post-production of multimedia elements used in videos. These elements could include but are not limited to, motion graphics, animations, augmented and virtual reality, gaming design, as well as other technologies used to deliver state-of-the-art engaging digital content. The essential functions of the position are as follows: Edits videos to include tasks such as reviewing and peer-reviewing footage, making editorial decisions to enhance the flow and quality of the video, video transcoding, rough cuts, audio adjustment, color correction, and final editing using Adobe Creative Suite software, as well as updating tracking documents related to editing and working to ensure editing is completed on time. In addition, this position is responsible for the creation of a wide range of video assets require of the provost’s office, such as producing the commencement brochures for all UF commencements as requested by the provost’s office. Plans and records videos used in support of online course delivery following departmental protocols and coordinates with others on the team for production updates, editing requests, and multimedia designs. Assists multimedia producers in the creation of computer graphics and special effects for video post-production in accordance with the overall production concepts including, but not limited to, motion graphics, animations, augmented and virtual reality, gaming design. |
Expected Salary: | $20.00 - $28.00 per hour |
Minimum Requirements: | High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience. |
Preferred Qualifications: | A bachelor's degree in media or communications (audio/visual) and one or more years of experience in video editing; knowledge of video and photo editing software (i.e., Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop); experience in graphic design and animation. |
