Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Provide legal advice and counsel to municipal departments on a wide range of issues, including land use, zoning, contracts, public works, and environmental law.
2. Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, contracts, deeds, leases, and other legal documents.
3. Represent the municipality in civil litigation, administrative hearings, and other legal proceedings.
4. Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions on complex issues of municipal law.
5. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
6. Work closely with other members of the legal team to develop legal strategies and solutions.
7. Participate in the development and implementation of public policy initiatives.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in municipal law, public policy, or related field.
4. Strong knowledge of municipal law, public policy, and government municipalities.
5. Excellent legal research and writing skills.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
10. High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
