Experience
- 2 3 years Experience in automating processes via api's, bash/perl/python scripting in a medium to enterprise business.
- 5 + years of experience with the Nagios monitoring engine (experience with Op5 commercial package a plus)
- 5 + years of experience with Nagios extensions and the Nagios open source community
- 5 + years experience architectural design of monitoring infrastructure on Nagios monitoring solution or similar platform's such as (Netcool, or Zabbix)
- 5 + years experience designing and implementing dynamic monitoring systems for elastic virtual private clouds and bare metal.
- Scripting background bash/perl/python
- Ability to work with teams in a dynamic organizational environment
- Worked with plugins
- Sound knowledge of internal and external monitoring best practices
- Ability to understand and tune-up internal settings in linux (centos/redhat) environment is required.
- Strong understanding of linux processes, user management, file system management is essential.
- Ability to implement kernel upgrade/patch upgrade and should have sound knowledge on package management.
- Should have sound knowledge on linux security features (iptables, selinux, ACL etc).
- Sound knowledge on using traceroute, netstat, telnet, and other commands for troubleshooting.
Strong in Shell scripting. Should be able to automate tasks via shell scripts.- Strong troubleshooting skills. Would need to analyze and provide break-fix for re-occurring issues.
- Should have sound knowledge on networking with respect operating system.
- Good understanding of SSH, Apache, DNS, DHCP, NFS, Tomcat etc, services is essential.
- Should be aware of up-coming/new technologies.
- Hands-on Openstack is advantage.
