NAMI Tennessee - What started as a small group of families gathered around a kitchen table in 1979 has blossomed into the nation's leading voice on mental health. NAMI is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
Position Description - NAMI Tennessee is seeking an organized, creative and motivated professional to provide leadership in developing, growing and maintaining relationships with program staff and affiliates.
The Director, Programs and Outcomes provides leadership in developing, and maintaining relationships with program staff, via program senior managers, and with all staff and NAMI Affiliate leaders, and facilitate growth for NAMI Tennessee, a 501c3 organization. This will also include encouraging strong partnerships with community stakeholders such as donors, law enforcement and correctional officers, family members, peers, mental health providers, TDMHSAS, NAMI Affiliates, schools, and young adult stakeholders. NAMI Tennessee is seeking an organized, creative and motivated professional to grow and strengthen the organizational capacity of our local NAMI affiliates, support NAMI Tennessee's Executive Director and their staff.
This is a full-time position based in our Hendersonville, Tennessee offices
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Mulitdisciplinary teams experience
- Data Collection and evaluation
- Public speaking experience
- Mental Health Advocacy

- Group Facilitation
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social work, business, communication, non-profit leadership or comparable field
- Non-profit leadership experience
- Knowledge of issues facing individuals living with mental illness and their families
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; demonstrate excellent judgment and relationship management skills
- Ability to coordinate and conduct trainings and facilitate large groups
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Experience working with Board of Directors
- Experience leading community building initiatives
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Fiscal management skills, including budget management, decision-making, and reporting
- willingness to learn in areas in which prior knowledge may not exist
- Strong sense of integrity- conviction to working with compassion, honesty, and effectiveness
- Strong knowledge of the mental health field and family experience
- Must pass background check
