Job Description:
We are seeking a caring and responsible nanny to provide quality childcare in a safe and nurturing environment. Responsibilities include supervising daily activities, preparing meals, helping with homework, engaging in educational and recreational activities, and managing light housekeeping related to the children. The ideal candidate should be attentive, reliable, and able to communicate effectively with both children and parents. Experience with childcare is preferred. Duties may also include transportation to and from school or activities,
Responsibilities:
- Providing attentive and nurturing care to children, including feeding, bathing, dressing, and changing diapers.
- Ensuring a safe environment for the children by supervising their activities and preventing accidents or injuries.
- Engaging children in age-appropriate educational activities, such as reading, teaching basic skills, helping with homework, and promoting intellectual development.
- Organizing fun, creative, and stimulating activities to promote the physical and emotional development of the children, such as playing games, arts and crafts, and outdoor play.
- Preparing nutritious meals and snacks for the children, ensuring they eat a balanced diet.
- Driving children to and from school, extracurricular activities, or appointments as needed.
- Performing light housekeeping duties related to the children, such as cleaning up after meals, tidying play areas, and doing the children's laundry.
- Maintaining open communication with parents, discussing the child's progress, concerns, and changes in routines or schedules.
- Monitoring the children's health and ensuring they follow proper hygiene practices, such as brushing teeth, washing hands, and bathing regularly.
- Enforcing household rules and providing gentle discipline to teach children proper behavior and respect.
- Offering emotional support and comfort to children, helping them cope with any challenges, and encouraging positive self-esteem and confidence.
- Ensuring children have proper rest, including putting younger children down for naps and following bedtime routines.
Requirements:
- Prior experience as a nanny or in childcare
- Valid driver's license
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent references from previous employers
- Ability to pass a background check
- Non-smoker
- Patient, nurturing, and reliable
- strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Education background
- Loves arts and crafts
- Flexibility in hours and availability for occasional evenings or weekends
