The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Vice President (SVP), Technology Solutions focused on Enterprise Applications based out of our National Center office located in Dallas, TX!
Technology is considered a critical enabler of the Association's strategy and long-term success. To successfully enable strategy through industry-leading technology innovation, transformation, and security, we are seeking a proven, transformational leader to join the Business Technology senior leadership team. This leader will work in close partnership with executive leadership and a wide range of other stakeholders, both within the organization and externally.
The role requires an outstanding business leader and technology executive who will drive a culture of innovation, provide clear, strategic direction, and build energy around change and opportunity. The successful candidate will have a multi-tasked manner of thinking, be highly self-motivated and directed, possess outstanding leadership and strong interpersonal skills with a bias towards collaboration. The person will have high integrity, enthusiastic motivation, and a proven ability to produce quality results in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment.
The SVP, Business Technology (BT) must be an innovative and multifaceted leader, excellent communicator and accomplished. This leader must be able to effectively empower, challenge and encourage teams to execute ambitious strategies. They must continuously develop talent and maintain strong bench strength. The ideal candidate will have not only a strong “traditional” technical leadership background but will also have demonstrated experience leading change to develop robust digital capabilities that have enhanced constituent engagement as well as employee efficiency and effectiveness.
This position reports to the Association’s Executive Vice President of Business Technology.

Responsibilities
- Build strong, impactful business relationships across the enterprise through collaboration, teaming, consensus building and interpersonal efficiency; become a trusted advisor throughout the organization with a vast array of executives, peers and individual contributors.
- Develop a strong and broad understanding of all aspects of the business, the culture, and the organization’s key strategic objectives. Understand business strategy and needs, ensure Business Technology alignment with business objectives, and secure continued customer satisfaction.
- Participate in evaluation of established technologies and assessments of how to streamline and drive efficiencies, invest in new platforms to support innovative business approaches, and evaluate/retire legacy platforms as appropriate.
- Supervise the effective delivery of responsible enterprise strategic technology programs and technology services; monitor key performance indicators and direct efforts to ensure optimization of operations and continuous alignment to business needs.
- Participate in technology policies, processes, and cybersecurity measures to ensure effective and consistent operations and to safeguard assets and information.
- Attract, develop, and retain top level talent to effectively support the organization’s multi-year technology and multi-channel digital and personalization transformation strategy. Build excitement across the organization for the BT brand.
- Contribute to the development of the information technology annual operating and capital budgets, and strategic technology investment fund. Manage the ongoing expenditures against budget. Assess and communicate opportunities and risks associated with technology investments.
- Participate in the American Heart Association’s Business Technology Leadership team as well as the organization’s technology funding executive review committee, setting departmental vision, strategy, and tactics.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in senior technology leadership roles, with experience leading top tier enterprise platforms, digital enabling solutions, and program management.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communications, and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to present and discuss complex technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding and approval. Confidence and experience with Board of Director level interaction.
- Demonstrated success with the creation and execution of strategic plans, roadmaps, and related project outcomes by technical delivery teams.
- Experience integrating CRM and Marketing Cloud data within a complex multi-vendor environment.
- Experience managing key 3rd party technological strategic partnerships.
- Experience with leading industry platforms with an emphasis on Salesforce.
- Strong knowledge and expertise with data strategies, architecture, solutions, management, and governance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with offshore development centers, and digital accessibility compliance.
- Strong knowledge and experience with multi-channel digital marketing and digital fundraising application technology and various vendor hosted fundraising sites.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a mature multi-team technology department with a diverse set of business stakeholders.
- Experience with multiple traditional and contemporary data integration models where Salesforce is part of a larger ecosystem of applications and data.
