This role focuses on leveraging advanced simulation technologies, data analytics, and artificial intelligence to enhance NATO's training, decision-making, and operational capabilities.

Role Overview:
The Modelling, Simulation, and Learning Technologies Specialist is responsible for advancing and implementing innovative solutions in support of NATO's strategic objectives. This role focuses on leveraging advanced simulation technologies, data analytics, and artificial intelligence to enhance NATO's training, decision-making, and operational capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Development: Lead the design, development, and deployment of simulation models and environments to support NATO's operational planning, training exercises, and strategic studies.
- Training and Learning Technologies: Implement and manage cutting-edge learning technologies, including virtual classrooms, immersive training environments, and distributed simulation platforms, to enhance the effectiveness and reach of NATO's education and training programs.
- Interoperability and Standards: Ensure compliance with NATO’s M&S standards (e.g., STANAG 4603, C2SIM) to maintain interoperability among NATO and national systems. Contribute to the development and refinement of these standards through participation in NATO working groups and committees.
- Data-Driven Decision Support: Utilize data analytics and AI-driven tools to provide decision support for military and political leadership, contributing to more effective and timely decision-making processes.
- Project Management: Oversee projects related to the integration of M&S into NATO’s operational and strategic frameworks, ensuring that deliverables meet quality standards, timelines, and budgets.
- Collaboration and Innovation: Work closely with other NATO bodies, national military organizations, academia, and industry partners to foster innovation and share best practices in M&S and learning technologies.
- Education: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, operations research, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in M&S, preferably in a defense or military context. Experience with NATO or other international military organizations is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in M&S software, AI applications, and data analytics tools. Familiarity with NATO’s M&S standards and frameworks is essential.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work in a multinational and multidisciplinary team environment.
- Clearance: A current SECRET security clearance is required
