We are currently seeking a full-time Staff Scientist to join our Environmental team in Nashville, Tennessee.

Job Snapshot:

As an Environmental Staff Scientist, you will perform office and field work associated with environmental assessments, compliance, and permitting projects.

• Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
• North Carolina Brownfield's Investigations.
• Compliance Monitoring (stormwater monitoring and sampling).
• Vapor Intrusion Assessments.
• Remedial Investigations at contaminated sites under the direct supervision of a Project Manager or Licensed Professional.
  • Assist with research and preparation of environmental health and safety plans.
  • Perform field activities including sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment sampling, and soil gas.
  • Record and interpret data, conduct analyses, and compare results to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Prepare standard environmental reports.
• Wetland/stream assessment field work, reports, and permitting.
• Prepare supporting documentation and relevant sections for National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) assessments.
• Maintain knowledge of and compliance with regulatory requirements by attending environmental training courses or in-house training.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in biology, environmental science, geology, chemistry or related field
• Basic technical writing skills at the college level
• 2+ years of experience in a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with ArcGIS and GPS mapping
• OSHA 1910.120 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as:

• Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
• Walking over rough and uneven terrain
• Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
• Traveling out-of-town (typically overnight) for assignments as necessary
• Working outside of normal business hours when necessary
