About the Job
Duties
- Developing and executing executive communications plan and strategy
- Drafting Center Director’s content for all NASA’s Johnson Space Center employee communications, including town hall meetings, written content, PowerPoint presentations, and other channels used for engaging with employees
- Writing speeches and talking points for internal and external events
- Drafting concise yet thorough briefing materials used to prepare for engagements
- Creating strategy documents and sharing strategy with the workforce through a communications plan including writing stories, conducting interviews, creating and giving presentations, and drafting remarks
- Managing and executing media relations and media interviews for executives • Attending engagements to support executives
- Track and maintain metrics for executive communications including events, products, social media accounts and content, and traditional media
- Building and maintaining relationships with members of the Johnson executive team to inform communications strategy and content
- Managing executive social media accounts
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in appropriate area of specialization from an accredited college or university
- Ten (10) years of relevant experience
- Proactive work ethic, strong attention to detail to produce high quality content
- Ability and willingness to take initiative
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with tight deadlines
- Strong understanding of AP style
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Some after hours or holiday work required
- Position is not remote
Physical Requirements

If required, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time to visit other company sites. Must have hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. This position may require an employee to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance, reach, push, and pull. The employee may also be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
