Job DescriptionThe person in this position will represent International SOS and provide the services necessary to cover the range of Neurology services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility and the standard of care shall be of a quality, meeting or exceeding the currently recognized the Joint Commission (TJC), and national standards.
Location: Guam
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include clinical coverage, follow-up, and consultative services, with on-call/call-back coverage. Services will be provided at Newborn Nursery, Neonatal Stabilization Unit (NSU), Department of Pediatrics, Naval Hospital Guam. Services include but are not limited to:
- Provide acute and chronic inpatient medical care for neonatal patients in the NSU.
- Expedite care and facilitate consultation of complex patients to multiple specialties as needed.
- Provide care equivalent to a level III NICU setting, including managing high-frequency jet ventilation (HFJV), whole-body cooling for hypoxemic-ischemic encephalopathy, and inhaled nitric oxide for pulmonary hypertension required.
- NICU procedures including intubation, umbilical line placement, arterial puncture, peripheral arterial line placement, and chest tube insertions are required.
- Experience with neonatal transport preferred.
- Admissions/In-patient care – Document findings, initial diagnosis, and treatment plan, as well as any modifications or additions. Make rounds daily or as frequently as necessary for appropriate patient care.
- Continuous coverage which ensures adequate 24-hour on-call Neonatology coverage not to exceed 3 patients.
- On-call coverage – Including phone consultations, and callbacks required for critical patients.
- Act as a consultant to the Emergency Department, Pediatric Clinic, Multi-Service Ward pediatric patients, and Newborn Services.
- Indicate responsibility for the content and correctness of all prepared and transcribed reports by affixing the physician's signature with appropriate stamp validating contents.
- Write patient progress notes and/or consultation notes at appropriate intervals as determined by local medical facility policy.
- Provide and document history, and physical examinations, required or recommended for laboratory and imaging examinations and diagnosis.
- Ensure all information is entered in the medical record and documents submitted within 24 hours.
- Attend periodic onsite meetings for complicated obstetric patients (COB), the Perinatal Advisory Board (PAB), and Code Purple drill planning meetings.
- Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or comparable degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an ACGME accredited fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
- Current unrestricted license specific to the position in one of the 50 states and/or District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
- Applicants who have ever had a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action or denied upon application are not eligible.
- American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) board-certified or board-eligible Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine physician.
- Certified in the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), the S.T.A.B.L.E. program, and Basic Life Support (BLS).
- DEA License
- Previous VA or Military experience is strongly preferred but not required.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be local or relocate to the project site for the duration of the contract.
- Security investigative Requirements include a national security background investigation and Childcare National Agency Check and Inquiries (CNACI).
Physical Requirements:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/clinic work environment.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending, stooping and lifting to 25 lbs

Compensation | Min:400K Max: 500K
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
