The Nephrology Hospitalist will provide nephrological care to patients at South County Hospital. There is no ambulatory responsibilities or opportunities associated with this position. The Nephrology Hospitalist will report directly to the South County Medical Group Chief of Physician Services (meeting with them no less than monthly), as well as, the system Chief Medical Officer (meeting with them no less than quarterly).
The nephrology hospitalist APP is a 0.5 FTE position providing nephrological care to patients at South County Hospital. There is no ambulatory responsibilities or opportunities associated with this position. The nephrology hospitalist APP will report directly to a an assigned nephrologist, as well as, the system Chief Medical Officer
2. Primary Responsibilities
The nephrology hospitalist APP is employed on a part-time basis (0.5 FTE) actively to practice nephrology at South County Hospital.
The nephrology hospitalist APP shall participate in coverage and emergency call assignment as determined by SCH.
Subject to the terms hereof, the nephrology hospitalist APP shall devote such time, attention and energy as may be necessary to render services hereunder in a professional, competent and ethical manner, in accordance with all applicable federal, state, local and professional laws, rules and principles.
The nephrology hospitalist APP shall comply with all policies, rules and regulations adopted by SCH consistent with sound medical practice.
The nephrology hospitalist APP shall maintain timely, proper and complete records with respect to patients interviewed, examined, treated or otherwise cared for by Provider, including complying with all of SCH's policies and procedures regarding the timely and sufficient completion of documentation, and for releasing copies of patient records.
The nephrology hospitalist APP shall participate in and cooperate with any utilization review, quality assurance, risk management, medical care evaluation, or other similar program or study to review the professional performance of SCH's physicians as may be required by SCH, governmental agencies, professional review organizations, accrediting bodies or third-party payors.
In accordance with the policies of SCH, the nephrology hospitalist APP shall supervise such ancillary and support personnel as are assigned to assist Provider in the provision of medical services to patients. The nephrology hospitalist APP shall take reasonable steps to assure that such personnel properly perform their duties and act at all times within the limits of their applicable licenses or registrations.
The nephrology hospitalist APP shall participate in hospital committees as reasonably requested by SCH executive leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
Board Certified
Two or more years of clinical experience
