Objectives
Senior software engineers are responsible for developing, maintaining and installation of application software systems including both internally developed and commercially acquired systems. The staff is comprised of experienced members of development teams that might take a lead role in software projects. In general, the goal of these employees is to develop software systems that offer end-users high-quality performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
The senior software engineer is the primary resource for determining the approach to be utilized in a project implementation.
The senior software engineer should possess a thorough understanding of the product from both a functional and technical perspective.
He or she should have a comprehensive understanding of the implementation methodologies for the technology being utilized in product development, such as .NET or Java Framework; Microsoft SQL Server; and Microsoft Internet Information Server.
The senior software engineer participates in every aspect of the development and implementation, working with the Senior Project Manager to ensure full understanding of the change implications to current business processes.
He or she designs, specifies, and builds product deliverables according to specifications, escalates technical design or specification issues to Director of Application Development and/or Project Manager and, works within a given time frame to complete coding.
He or she follows good development practices and software development life cycle Methodologies throughout product development
Position Requirements
At a minimum, a bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering (or comparable degree program) is essential for this position.
Familiar with software design methods and techniques, and have the skills to write, edit and de-bug computer programs to achieve design objectives.
5 15 years expertise in the following:
o C#
o ASP.NET
o SQL Server / T-SQL
Experience with Any of the Following a Big Plus
CSS
HTML5
jQuery or similar framework experience
Bootstrap
PHP
Redis' Elastic Search / SOLR
SharePoint
