Job Summary:
The Network Administrator ensures the stable operation of the Company networks. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. The person will also analyze and resolve end user and peripheral network connectivity problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training where required.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform network design and capacity planning.
- Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
- Provide second level technical support to users concerning network system operations.
- Diagnose problems with network equipment and perform equipment repairs or upgrades when appropriate.
- Develop functional redundant Disaster Recovery connectivity.
- Schedule and monitor backup of network configurations. Periodically restore configuration files, applications, and other network hardware to test backup facilities.
- Install, configure, and maintain network cabling and other networking equipment such as Cameras, Security Access Points, WiFi AP, routers, servers, hubs, switches, VoIP, Telephony, VPN and UPS.
- Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network connected LAN, WiFi (broadcasts/zones, end-user hardware, Telephones, VoIP Hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Install, configure, and maintain IPS/IDS, Firewall, DMZ etc. Ethernet Access Hardening for maximum internal network protection.
- In conjunction with InfoSec, establish and enforce policies, procedures, and standards regarding LAN, WAN, security, and use of the organization's computer and information assets.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in computer science, or related field (B.S. preferred).
- Active industry certification Net+, CCNA.
- Sec+ or Cisco Security equivalent.
- 3-5 years of networking experience, or a combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of VoIP Installation, maintenance, and Support experience.
- 2+ years of Cisco/Meraki experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CCNP or CCIE certified is a plus.
- Operational knowledge of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and application virtualization Network and routing protocols; Switch configuration and programming, VoIP Call admission controls and Phone Agent Desktop Support.
- Ability to independently install software and hardware on networking equipment and microcomputers.
- Familiarity with a variety of networking and personal computer software.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on routers, switches, firewalls, VoIP peripherals, end user connectivity.
- Ability to communicate information to end users, colleagues, and senior leadership in a clear and concise manner. Office 365 suite proficiency is desired.
- Ability and desire to work as a member of a team and as a team of one.
