Network Architect - LingaTech

Location:  Richmond, VA
Position Type: Hybrid, required onsite for quarterly meetings
Contract Length: 8 months

Position Overview:
This role involves strategic planning, design, and implementing secure, efficient network solutions aligned with organizational goals, providing documentation, guidance, and best practices for future network enhancements.

Duties:

• Document comprehensive network designs that integrate multiple network technologies, such as LANs, WANs, wireless networks, and VPNs,to support the organizations business operations and communication needs.
• Design and document the entire network implementation process
• Monitoring network performance and taking follow-up steps to resolve latency issues and security concerns
• Performing regular network upgrades to create greater efficiency
• Creating documentation throughout the design and deployment process for future reference
• Develop patterns and standards for all network designs
• The ability to analyze data traffic and system performance to determine future upgrades.
• Work with our IT staff and thirds-party equipment and software vendors to ensure the network needs are met.
• Research new technologies and solutions, and asses new technologies for adoption
• Define multisite network operations and software applications.
• Train, mentor, and transfer skills to the extended team.
• Works on highly complex projects that require in-depth knowledge across multiple specialized architecture domains and networking layers.
• Aligns architecture strategy with business goals.
• Defines, explains, and advocates technology strategy.

Required Skills:

• 7 years of experience in technical design and architecture around network equipment and network software systems.
• 7 years of experience in handling issues that arise with large networks, prioritize network security and compliance, understanding security protocols, firewalls
• 7 years of experience with Network Security Frameworks and Best Practices, Cloud Networking and Virtualization Technologies, Internet of Things (IoT) Infrastructure and Protocol
• 7 years of experience with Project data and documentation tools & experience with developing network design documentations and presentations using VISIO
• 5 years of experience in design, build and maintain multi-tier networks
• 5 years of experience with Advanced Network Design and Architecture planning, proficiency in Network Simulation and Modeling Tools
• 5 years of experience conducting site assessment of current remote site WAN/LAN/WLAN environments, identifying network problem areas and develop hierarchical based network design
• 5 years of experience designing and implanting multiple global Azure cloud solutions to support revenue generation. Worked to move key servers to cloud based services.
