Requirements:The Network Configuration Technician performs a wide variety of tasks including configuring, staging and testing of customer owned inventory being deployed. This requires one to quickly adapt in an ever changing technically diverse environment. High volumes of technical configurations are performed on a daily basis. Development of configuration processes and technical writing are critical components of the Logistics Center Technicians success.
Network Configuratoin Technician Responsibilities:
- Configure hardware such as workstations, tablets, POS systems, routers, switches, access points, printers, scanners and any other piece of hardware as required by customers and internal departments
- Write, interpret and update technical documents with verbal and visual elements to insure consistent configuration of customer equipment
- Interact with customers and internal departments to understand their configuration requirements while fully utilizing and communicating the staging center's capabilities
- Coordinate with Project Manager's (PM) & Project Coordinator's (PC) on what materials need to be staged, configured for various projects
- Configure components following customer and equipment specifications while maintaining a fluid work flow resulting in accurate work completed quickly
- Troubleshoot and repair computer equipment so it can be deployed at customer's location
- Research and analyze technical developments as they apply to Comm-Works core business.
- Understand and assist with all warehouse functions as needed
- Unpack and check inventory received against purchase orders or invoices assuring correct quality and quantities were delivered
- Ship equipment to destination requested by PM/PC to arrive in tact and prior to scheduled installation time.
- Record inventory transactions such as receiving, shipping, and location transfers allowing for accurate and timely receiving, shipping, and inventory reports
- Assist with inventory control, cycle counts and physical inventory to retain 99% accuracy
- Establish and retain customer confidence
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Required Education, Skills & Experience:
- 1-year technical schooling or 3 years of hardware and software technical experience
- 1 year of warehouse/distribution experience
- Ability to work unsupervised requiring critical decision-making skills
- Proactive technical and procedural trouble shooting skills. Understand how changing conditions affect the costs and benefits of various options. Strong ability to define the methods and conclusions of such trouble shooting activities. Identify ways to measure and improve system performance.
- Proficient written and verbal English communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate, present information, and respond to managers, employees, customers, and vendors in an intelligent, clear, concise, professional and grammatically correct manner. Utilize technical writing skills and standard tools such as Microsoft Office to illustrate and verbalize articulate communications.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships, understand and educate internal and external customers. Demonstrates the proper behavior, communication and interaction to meet internal and external customer needs and concerns. Respond to customer inquiries completely and promptly.
- Knowledge of: Networking, 4G LTE, Cisco, Adtran, Fortinet, (switches, routers, AP's) Windows OS (DOS, XP, vista, 7, 8) UNIX, Apple, Computer Hardware and Peripherals, Symantec Ghost (other imaging software) Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet, aptitude to learn any platform on the fly.
- Valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Fork Lift Certification or ability to obtain this certification.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Work in a warehouse environment
- Required to use hands and arms to type, pull, handle, feel, reach and/or squeeze
- Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch; and perform work overhead
- Required to use a keyboard and a mouse for long periods
- Vision requirements include the ability to adjust focus and viewing a computer screen for the majority of the workday
- Ability to hear and talk in a clear, audible voice
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: Full-time - Monday -Friday 8am - 5pm, plus overtime as needed.
