Network Design Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Design Manager to lead and manage our network design team. Responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and implementation of our telecommunications network infrastructure. You will lead a team of network designers and engineers to ensure that our network architecture meets the company's strategic objectives and delivers high performance, reliability, and scalability . This role requires a strategic thinker who can manage, provide direction, and ensure the optimal performance and reliability of our network infrastructure.

You will lead a team of network designers and engineers to ensure that our network architecture meets the company's strategic objectives and delivers high performance, reliability, and scalability . This role requires a strategic thinker who can manage, provide direction, and ensure the optimal performance and reliability of our network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement network design strategies that align with the company's business goals and objectives.
- Lead a team of network designers and engineers in the planning, design, and implementation of telecommunications network infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, operations, and IT, to ensure seamless integration of network solutions.
- Evaluate new technologies and products to enhance the performance and efficiency of the network infrastructure.
- Define network design standards, best practices, and processes to ensure consistency and quality across projects.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of network designs to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Extensive experience in carrier or ISP networks with a solid background in routing or access technologies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members to foster their professional development and growth.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to procure network equipment and services as needed.
- Monitor network performance and capacity to identify and address potential issues proactively.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements to inform network design decisions.
- Management-level experience with design, installation, and support of access technologies such as Fiber to the Home (FTTH).
- Management-level, experience with installation, configuration, and management of access network platforms such as Calix and Adtran would be nice to have.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network design and architecture, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
- Core route/switch network design experience, Cisco preferred, but other major vendors would be acceptable (Juniper, Nokia, etc)
- In-depth knowledge of networking technologies, protocols, and standards (e.g., TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with network design tools and software, such as Cisco Packet Tracer, GNS3, or similar.
- Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are a plus.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Computer literate with an emphasis on Microsoft Office and functional knowledge of CAD/GIS systems software.
