Job Description: Network Engineer
5-year contract hybrid in Annapolis, MD
Summary: The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is seeking Task Orders from qualified Offerors to provide one (1) Network Engineer. The selected Network Engineer will play a critical role in planning and coordinating the design, installation, and connectivity of computer and network systems, ensuring stable, scalable, redundant, and secure network operations.
Scope of Work: The Network Engineer will be responsible for:
- Designing, developing, analyzing, troubleshooting, and documenting computer networks and infrastructure.
- Monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and documenting a statewide network, adhering to industry best practices for security, disaster recovery, business continuity, change control, and client support.
- Developing and analyzing network designs and protocols, including prototyping and assessment.
- Planning, engineering, forecasting, and implementing network systems, including identifying resource requirements.
- Leading and assisting in major network projects to support capacity growth, upgrades, and the integration of new products and features.
- Evaluating current network systems and recommending changes in maintenance and systems standards, as well as training support personnel on conversion, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Applying up-to-date knowledge of standards, guidelines, and industry trends for LAN, WAN, Wireless, Data Center, and Cloud networking.
- Driving improvements in network processes, efficiency, and standardization.
- Ensuring compliance with security protocols, change control processes, and adherence to established standards.
- Providing advanced diagnosis, isolation, and resolution of network problems, including identifying and documenting root causes.
Qualifications: The Offeror must propose a resource that meets the following minimum qualifications:
- An Associate degree in an Information Technology (IT) related field (as determined by the AOC).
- Active certifications, including:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) in Enterprise or Security.
Preferred Qualifications: The AOC prefers the proposed resource to have:
- Ten (10) years of CONUS technical experience in IT networking.
- A Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology (IT) related field (as determined by the AOC).
- Certifications issued within the last four (4) years, including:
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) in Enterprise Infrastructure or Security.
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE).
- Prisma Certified Cloud Security Engineer (PCCSE) from Palo Alto Networks.
