Job Description:
Client can only accept US Citizen or GC Holders for this position and candidate has to already be local.
This contract is for the Maryland Judiciary, when submitted a candidate, make sure they have not already been submitted or applied to the Maryland Judiciary.
Work location: Hybrid position with (three) 3 days per work onsite in Annapolis, MD 21401 and two (2) days per week remote; after 6 months, and with client approval, the candidate may have the option to then work remotely three (3) days per week and onsite two (2) days per week.
Client is seeking a Network Engineer for a long term opportunity with our client in Annapolis, Maryland. The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, analyzing, troubleshooting, and documenting computer networks and infrastructure. They will develop and analyze network designs and protocols including prototyping and assessment and perform planning, engineering, forecasting and implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems.
Minimum Qualifications Must meet ALL:
- Associate degree in an Information Technology (IT) related field.
- Active Certifications as a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise or (CCNP) Security Certification.
- Ten (10) years of CONUS technical experience in IT networking.
Preferred Qualifications it's highly desirable for the candidate to have the following experience and qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology (IT) related field
- Active Certifications issued within the last four (4) years
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) in Enterprise Infrastructure or Security Certification.
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) Certification.
- Prisma Certified Cloud Security Engineer (PCCSE) Certification from Palo Alto Networks.
- Layer 2 & 3 optimization and boundary virtual switching systems experience.
- Scalable routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF) experience.
- Enterprise Data Center and cloud Networking for Virtualization, SDN, Load Balancing, storage experience.
- Zero Trust Network Access and micro-segmentation experience.
- High Availability in Enterprise experience.
- Advanced WAN service layers, SDWANs and WAN Optimization applications experience.
- Experience with current Network Security Services applications, services, and appliances including, but not limited to:
- Identity Management
- Network Access Control
- Application Layer Inspection
- Content and Malware Filtering
- Data Loss and Intrusion Prevention
- Zero-day threats
- IPsec and SSL VPN
- PKI
- Two-Factor Authentication
- Enterprise VoIP and physical security environments - access control and video surveillance network applications experience.
- Quality-of-Service design and implementation experience.
- Network Management Protocols, Applications and Operating System capabilities experience.
- Installation and configuration of Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, and Palo Alto platforms experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities shall include but are not limited to the following:
- Designing, developing, analyzing, troubleshooting, and documenting computer networks and infrastructure.
- Performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and documentation of a statewide network, utilizing industry best practices for security, disaster recovery and business continuity, change control, and client support.
- Developing and analyzing network designs and protocols including prototyping and assessment.
- Performing planning, engineering, forecasting and implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems.
- Leading and/or assisting in major network projects to support capacity growth, upgrades and new products/features, and integration.
- Evaluating current network systems and recommending changes in maintenance and systems standards, and training support personnel on the conversion, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Applying in-depth up-to-date knowledge of standards, guidelines, industry trends and similar for LAN, WAN, Wireless, Data Center, Cloud networking and interconnection.
- Driving improvements in network process, efficiency, and standardization.
- Ensuring security compliance, change control processes and adherence to standards.
- Providing upper tier of diagnosis, isolation, and resolution of network problems.
- Identifying and documenting root cause.
- Proactively identifying potential issues in the production environment and recommending potential solutions
- Developing comprehensive graphical and text-based documentation and effectively managing the implementation process from design to acceptance.
- Hosting weekly status meetings/calls with team or on as needed basis.
- Leading, scheduling, and overseeing the activities with other team members to resolve end user hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Assisting in the creation of robust network designs, acting as the escalation point of contact and lead engineer for implementations and provide ongoing support and maintenance.
- Oversight of the configuration, maintenance, and documentation of routers, switches, wireless controllers, load balancers, security appliances, WAN optimizers, and management and security appliances.
Reporting Tasks
- Weekly report communicating project progress and status
- Weekly time reporting on client provided forms
- Any additional reports as assigned by the supervising manager
