Job Title: Airport Network Engineer
Location: (Onsite) - Atlanta Airport Atlanta, Georgia 30320
Duration: Contract (06+ Months, with potential for extension)
Pay Rate : $48/Hr. on W2, all inclusive
Position Overview:
Atlanta Airport is seeking a skilled Network Engineer with wireless expertise to support our Network Operations Center (NOC). The successful candidate will ensure reliable, secure wired and wireless data communications, focusing on installing, configuring, and maintaining network equipment in line with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and configure hardware, software, and performance monitoring tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues to prevent downtime.
- Develop plans to address wireless network challenges and future needs.
- Collaborate with vendors and network managers on deployment.
- Manage firewalls, network security, and system upgrades.
- Configure and deploy Cisco switches and access points.
- Conduct site surveys and ensure network optimization.
Support Duties:
- Respond to and resolve network issues from the Service Desk.
- Prepare documentation, including system maintenance and recovery plans.
- Ensure system security compliance during installations and upgrades.
- Maintain software licenses and vendor agreements.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Experience as a network engineer with expertise in networking, routing, switching, and wireless technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Wi-Fi infrastructure, Cisco wireless LAN controllers, and access point configuration.
- Excellent multitasking and organizational skills.
- Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCIE Wireless, CCNP) highly desirable; CWNA a plus.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and on-call as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of server experience.
- Cisco certifications and a valid driver’s license are highly desired.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 40 lbs, stand or walk for extended periods, and work flexible hours.
Non-Technical Skills:
- Strong communication, self-management, and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, providing customer-focused support.
Must be willing to work additional hours and handle emergency on-call duties
