Description: Our client is currently seeking a Network Engineer for a W2 Contract
Job Description:
- We are looking for a Network Engineer to join our Network Operations Center (NOC). You will ensure our wired and wireless networks are reliable, secure, and efficient.
- Your role will involve installing, configuring, and maintaining network equipment, and you should be familiar with industry standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and configure hardware and software, including backups and performance monitoring tools.
- Troubleshoot to prevent network downtime.
- Provide solutions for network upgrades.
- Develop plans to address recurring wireless network issues.
- Plan future strategies to maintain high network performance.
- Work with vendors and network managers on implementation and deployment.
- Install and manage firewalls and other security measures.
- Train staff on wireless technologies.
- Continuously test network performance and make necessary adjustments.
- Configure and deploy Cisco switches and access points.
- Conduct site surveys.
Training & Development:
- Strong research and troubleshooting skills.
- Stay updated on wireless technology platforms and systems.
Support:
- Respond to and resolve network issues assigned by the Service Desk.
- Write technical and end-user documentation.
- Provide system, maintenance, and disaster recovery documentation.
- Support system installations and ensure security requirements are met.
- Research and resolve problems, coordinating with IT support staff as needed.
- Maintain software licenses and vendor support.
- Follow team policies, procedures, and standards.
- Work collaboratively to achieve team and organizational goals.
- Deliver responsive, customer-focused service.
- Prepare management reports on system audits, availability, and performance.
- Submit change order documentation for system modifications.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
Decision-Making:
- Select appropriate procedures and methods to accomplish tasks.
- Follow standardized procedures and written instructions.
Leadership:
- Serve as a technical resource or mentor to other employees.
- Lead or instruct less experienced workers.
- Present upgrades and improvements to upper management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proven experience as a network engineer.
- Hands-on experience with networking, routing, switching, and wireless.
- Excellent knowledge of Wi-Fi network management and monitoring.
- Experience with Cisco wireless controllers and troubleshooting.
- Ability to set up and configure network devices like access points.
- Strong organizational, prioritizing, and multitasking skills.
- Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCIE Wireless, CCNP) and ITIL are highly desired.
- CWNA certification is a plus.
- Ability to work evening, overnight, and weekend hours as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 5 years of server experience.
- Master's degree preferred with 5-8 years of related experience.
- Valid driver's license.

- Manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Self-starter with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or in a team.
- Willingness to work extra hours and respond to after-hours emergencies.
