Network Engineer - The Copper River Family of Companies

About the Job
Copper River Cyber Solutions is looking for a Network Engineer to join our team in support of a new contract at the Defense Information Systems Agency/Hosting and Compute Center (HACC). This position will be performed remotely with the occasional need for an onsite meeting in the Washington D.C. area.
The objective of this requirement is to acquire highly skilled/technical services for Hybrid Cloud Solutions Infrastructure implementation and sustainment in an enterprise computing environment; acquire services for evaluating, integrating, and sustaining DoD applications in an enterprise communications environment; and analyze the infrastructure design and associated tool sets to provide a future path to an optimized solution. The solutions should consider current customer base, workload requirements, optimization, cost consideration, growth scalability and meet all government security requirements.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Assist in conducting a thorough assessment of the existing NIPRNet and SIPRNet network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, and other network devices).
- The assessment will include at a minimum: mapping existing network connections, device configuration review, Access Control List (ACL) and firewall rule analysis, Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) analysis, and route table analysis.
- Require overarching site diagram package with integrated operational concept overview diagrams, system diagrams, and system interface diagrams
- Assist in providing a detailed network redesign proposal focused on three (3) primary areas: Network Consolidation, Process Automation/Improvement and Next-Gen Network Architecture. The solution should meet all government security requirements and produce an analysis of infrastructure design with recommendations on optimization. The desired result should take into consideration reduction in overall costs.
- Assist in developing a comprehensive redesign of the existing infrastructure with the core aims of improving scalability, compatibility and overall network performance. This redesign proposal will be vendor agnostic and will cover the following areas:
- IPv6 deployment
- Cloud integration (Azure, AWS, Google, and Oracle)
- Zero-Trust
- Software Defined Networking (LAN and WAN)
- Cybersecurity enhancements (BGPSec, real time threat detection)
- Next Gen Networking (NGN)
- DoD Enterprise – Identify, Credential, Accountability, Management (E-ICAM)
- Assist with the data gathered from the individual site assessments to recommend methods to consolidate network hardware. The overall aim is to reduce the network footprint at each site by consolidating hardware and eliminating devices with minimal utilization. Data gathered from the Network Assessment and Performance Analysis tasks will provide the groundwork for generating a per site Consolidation Report.
- Assist the team in providing rack elevations, logical and physical network diagrams recommended solutions.
- Assist management in the operation of networks, cloud and / or security systems.
- Must stay current with latest developments in network, could, security, and other LAN technology.
- Assist with hardware and software trouble shooting for the LAN / WAN.
- Assist with designing quality metric disciplines.
- Assist with the analyzing, evaluation, and testing of software / hardware problems and submits findings to management officials.
- Assist with troubleshooting intra-system telecommunications and / or security.
- Resolve hardware or cloud problems.
- Schedule or provide training in the use of automation equipment for the office.
- Maintain inventory of all data center equipment and supplies.
- Submit recommendations relative to the identification of supplies, equipment, and furniture.
- Schedule or perform the repair and / or replacement of defective information technology equipment.

- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience (4+ year's) may be substituted for a degree.
