Job Description
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
Moving assets from data centers to public cloud.
This Network Implementation Engineer position will operate as a key member Client Network Team in conjunction with the Cloud Center of Excellence. The engineer will work with the corresponding architects, engineering and change teams to implement technical designs, with respect to the migration of applications, currently residing on legacy infrastructures. This will be inclusive of all networking technologies including LAN, WAN, Security, DNS, Proxies, and load balancers. The successful candidate will partner with the design team to review work instructions and implement them. The engineer in this position must be a very detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills. They must also be able to work with incident teams to troubleshoot complex issues in a fast paced environment.

Previous Experience
- 1-2 years AWS experience – Not required, but a plus
- 5+ years' experience working with Cisco technologies.
- 5+ years' experience working other Layer 4-7 network technologies
- Experience designing and implementing solutions for large enterprise networks.
- Experience working with application teams and project managers
- Proven ability to execute on multiple technical projects in parallel
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Data Center Technology
- Detailed knowledge of Cisco switches and routers
- Experience with ACLs and firewalls, such Checkpoint and Palo Alto
- Experience with Wide Area Network design and operation including peering, ISP options and best practices
- Knowledge of IP fundamentals such as VLANs, Subnetting, and IPAM
- Extensive hands on working knowledge of load balancing with F5 LTMs and GTMs
- Knowledge of proxy technologies such as Squid and Portus
- Experience with internal and external DNS design and operation
- Capable of utilizing network tools to monitor and troubleshoot network issues
- Familiar with scripting and automation tools

- Ability to work with application owners and migration teams to migrate and support applications as the move to a hybrid platform.
- Effectively communicate technical solutions to various audiences.
- Ability to collaborate with cloud and data center teams on the impact of technology decisions.
- Understand the importance of communicating risk assessments.
- Work with other infrastructure teams and design effective and supportable infrastructure choices for business units.
- Ability to lead technical discussions and take command of meetings.
- Experienced in working with vendors.
