QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Experience: 3-5 years designing, implementing, installing & troubleshooting Cisco routers, switches, firewalls & load balancers including: designing, implementing & troubleshooting network routing protocols; OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, BGP; working knowledge of local, wide and metropolitan area networks; working knowledge of Cisco wireless components; Cisco infrastructure configuration & management; data circuit/WAN support including QOS configurations; Ethernet topologies & data communications; VOIP & Video Conferencing components.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Lead Network Engineer, this position will provide support, maintain and install systems, equipment, software and processes necessary for LAN/WAN connectivity and communication. Provide advanced network infrastructure design including high availability, load balancing, firewalls, routing, and switching. Resolves Tier II and Tier III level issues and problems associated with the LAN/WAN infrastructure.
-Manage load balancing, firewalls, routing, and switching to maintain desired capacity for existing and new applications. Recommend bandwidth changes for network improvements along with maintaining proper IOS levels for stability, desired features, and security.
-Support the installation and repair of WAN data circuits to remote offices and ATM machines. Review utilization and availability reports using in house tools and third party vendor solutions to identify problems and take corrective action.
-Respond to Help Desk ticket assignments and Network Engineer I/II escalations in support of failed network systems and services. Troubleshoot end user connectivity or communication problems to determine root cause. Communicate with service providers for repair and corrective action.
