Job description:
- Bachelor degree in Information Technology related field of study with a network engineering focus.
- 3 to 5 years working with and administering network infrastructure in a business environment.
- Must have a Cisco Certification – CCNP Preferred – CCNA Required.
- Dealing with multiple third party vendors and contractors.
- Managing and administering other IT related equipment including: VoIP, video conferencing systems, VPN,
- Managing small to medium sized data centers
- Understanding of SD-WAN architecture and design
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.
- Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
- Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches and controllers.
- Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
- Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
- Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products.
- Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Dependable and flexible when necessary.
- Network security experience.
- LAN and WAN experience.
- Contribute to the definition of the North American network infrastructure strategy.
- Assist with architecting, implementing, administering and optimizing all network related system in the Houston area.
- Responsible for maintaining and managing video conferencing equipment in the Houston area.
- Assist with maintaining and administering computer networks.
- Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing network security measures.
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems.
- Replacing faulty network hardware when required.
- Assist in designing, configuring, testing and implementing network related hardware and software.
- Monitoring network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made.
- Conferring with network users about solving existing system problems.
- Providing support for VoIP and Wireless system.
- Supporting video conferencing equipment at multiple sites.
