Job Summary
The Network Engineer will be a member of the AEG Global Technology network team, who are responsible for the maintenance and development of AEG Global Technology's network infrastructure, including wireless and telephony.
Essential Functions
- Respond to and resolve out-of-hours network issues.
- Ensure that our existing network infrastructure is well managed, supported and secure at all times including responding to possible threats and vulnerabilities.
- Support the venue technology teams with the provision of temporary network and telephony equipment for events at AEG’s venues
- Maintain current knowledge of new network infrastructure hardware and software solutions, and recommend upgrades where appropriate to maintain efficient operation.
- Implement and document new network systems and upgrades to existing systems.
- Resolve issues caused by third party suppliers, particularly suppliers of telecommunications services.
- Resolve calls relating to network systems which have been escalated to you from the Service Desk.
- Understand the long-term business objectives and suggest technical strategies to meet those objectives, introducing innovation to business processes through technology.
- Provide and promote the highest level of customer service and continuously seek ways to improve personal, team and business performance.
- Undertake any other relevant duties or reasonable request as requested by any member of the senior management team.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree (4-year) In Information Technology or a related field
- 4-6 years Related work experience
- Significant experience configuring and managing Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, wireless LAN controllers and Meraki wireless access points, and security gateways.
- Experience with configuring and managing Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama.
- Experience in network security, including layer 2 security and layer 7 deep packet inspection technologies.
- Experience working in environments such as test, pre-production and production.
- Experience troubleshooting complex network, voice, and internet connectivity issues including packet capture and analysis.
- Ability to form good and effective working relationships with all levels of staff.
- Ability to quickly understand new situations and new technologies.
- Provide root cause analysis of major incidents and document to the Global Technology team and key stakeholders.
- Highly skilled in network technologies including the following: The OSI model Transmission layer services including fibre technologies and CWDM/DWDM Ethernet technologies and layer 2 switching including VLAN configuration and management, STP, MTU and layer 2 security TCP/IP (both IPv4 and IPv6) Virtual routing and forwarding (VRF) Generic routing encapsulation (GRE) IP routing (including HSRP, VRRP, OSPF, EIGRP and BGP) IPSEC including route based VPNs Multicast QoS MPLS (including EoMPLS) Network security and 802.1x DNS and DHCP RADIUS
- Record of producing accurate detailed reports, paying attention to detail, and of working to agreed standards.
- High documentation standards, including configuration documentation for supported systems, standard operational procedures, request for change, and service incident documentation.
- Knowledgeable of industry best practices, designing and implementing systems and infrastructure in a secure and pragmatic way.
- Takes initiative, work with minimum supervision, organise your time effectively, and deliver to agreed timescales.

Pay Scale: $115,800- $138,137
