Network Engineer Training Manager - Veritas Search Group

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer Training Manager to lead the technical onboarding and continuous development of our network engineering team, focusing on the Fortinet ecosystem. This role is instrumental in guiding engineers through both technical solutions and soft skills needed to excel in customer-facing roles for a fast-growing MSP. You will leverage your extensive knowledge of Fortinet products, SD-WAN solutions, and network security protocols to build a training program that strengthens our team’s capabilities and supports our clients’ infrastructure needs. MSP experience is strongly preferred, as well as experience in pre-sales and post-sales technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and Deliver Training Programs: Design comprehensive training modules for network engineers, covering Fortinet technologies (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer), SD-WAN configurations, API scripting, and network security best practices.
• Technical Mentorship and Support: Serve as a mentor for junior engineers, offering guidance on complex troubleshooting, network design, deployment, and configuration management.
• Certification Guidance: Encourage and support the team in obtaining and maintaining certifications, such as Fortinet NSE 4-7, CCNA, and CCNP, to align with industry standards and customer expectations.
• Onboarding New Hires: Develop an effective onboarding process that integrates new hires into the Fortinet ecosystem quickly, covering essential MSP skills, client protocols, and the latest technical standards.
• Collaborate with Sales and Client Teams: Work closely with pre-sales and post-sales teams to understand client needs, prepare engineers for customer interactions, and assist with technical presentations.
• Training Content Creation: Develop and maintain up-to-date training materials, technical documentation, and practical exercises to keep the team aligned with evolving network technologies and security practices.
• Monitor and Improve Performance: Establish KPIs for the training program, conduct regular evaluations, and adjust training strategies to improve knowledge retention and practical application.
• Stay Current with Industry Trends: Act as a thought leader within the Fortinet ecosystem, keeping up with the latest developments and integrating new learnings into the training process.

Qualifications:

• Certifications: Fortinet NSE 4, 5, and 7 required; CCNA and CCNP strongly preferred.
• Experience: Over 7 years in network engineering, with at least 3 years dedicated to Fortinet products and SD-WAN solutions; MSP experience strongly preferred.
• Technical Skills:
• Network Technologies: Extensive knowledge of Fortinet technologies, including FortiGate, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer.
• SD-WAN: Demonstrated experience with SD-WAN architecture and implementation (Fortinet, VMware VeloCloud).
• Network Security: Strong foundation in network security practices, including firewall configuration, access control, and threat management.
• Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in API scripting and automation (Python preferred).
• Additional Tools: Experience with Juniper Mist Switches, Cradlepoint devices, and multi-platform network integrations.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible, engaging training material.
• Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving network issues.
